A MESSAGE FROM HOLLY

As the market goes through a new adjustment cycle, we also change and adapt. These changing times present an opportunity to reach out and create stronger working relationships. In Silicon Valley, most of us know that many great opportunities have either fallen into our laps as a result of pure luck, or have been the result of well-established professional relationships. As a recruiter, I enjoy receiving emails from colleagues, established contractors, and potential candidates. When contractors reach out to let Oak Hill know their availability and strengths, it expedites the process which benefits all parties.

In an attempt to create change for yourself and take a more active role in your own professional career, I put the challenge to you. Send a few emails that have the potential to support your career. This exercise is not about getting ahead, but more about overcoming personal constraints. Often times, we feel funny or uncomfortable about reaching out to people we do not know well. Yet, often a pleasant well-written email can lift the sprits of a recipient “so shines a good deed in a weary world” (Willy Wonka).

So feel free to reach out to the Oak Hill Corporation recruiting team. We want to hear from you. We like to know what is going on and any other tidbits you feel like sharing. Make sure that you include an updated resume, newly acquired skills, and any change of address. At Oak Hill Corporation we believe change is a good thing. It keeps us interesting…or at the very least on our toes!

Best wishes,
Holly Villar, Technical Recruiter, Oak Hill Corporation
